New Vancouver Group Forming
Fall 2006

Every five or six years ALI opens its doors to the community to create an awareness of the kind of personal growth work that we do. This is accomplished through a series of Free Introductory Talks and Introductory Weekend Workshops.

These events are designed to allow you to get an experiential taste of what it is like to engage in ALI’s unique course of study & experiential learning with a group of like-minded folks. The talks are free. The weekends are offered on a full tuition refund basis. If at the end of a workshop you feel the work does not meet your needs you simply do not pay. In this way we eliminate the fear of you wasting your money on something of no value. The purpose of these events is to provide a wide-open door for those who might benefit from associating with ALI.

We will be offering the first Introductory Weekend Workshop October 13-15, 2006.   If enough participants voice a desire to form an on-going study group, that will occur in January 2007. The purpose, intent, and functioning of an ALI study group is rather rare in modern times. ALI has a study group in Seattle in its 6th year.

Based on the experience of our existing group members, it seems that the path to finding the right group can have elements of a delightful mystery, some serendipity, a dash of synchronicity, and is often the culmination of a long and intimate personal search. You might have read a book about the work, or seen a reference to it in a new age article. Unless you have the good fortune of knowing someone already engaged in the work, the task of finding kindred spirits to work with can be quite daunting. ALI recognizes this difficulty and responds every five or six years by opening its doors to welcome new people into the work.

How an On-going Study Group Forms

I. Delivery of Three Introductory Weekend Workshops

The first workshop will be given October 13-15, 2006.  Each workshop will be offered as a stand-alone learning opportunity to help you get a feel for the appropriateness of the work. However, each weekend will be delivering information and experience that is an integral part of a larger body of teaching that will be delivered to this New Vancouver Group.

II. Individual & Small Group Support Resources Available
one begins to gain a new understanding and experience of their deeper nature, they will naturally confront all their old ideas, behaviors, and self images. Letting go of the old can be quite a struggle as various fears, doubts, and issues arise to keep the status quo in place. Assistance and support for people at this critical juncture in the process of integration and actualization is usually needed. ALI provides this support in the form of private sessions and small support group work. This support work can being at any time. The first opportunity to participate in either/both of these activities will be on July 21-22.  Contact Andrew Peters  for more information.  andrewpeters@shaw.ca / 604-736-9511

III. Realizing the Potential of a Real Work Group
The October and December weekend workshops will allow us to determine if enough people are interested in forming an  on-going group. A Group is one in which the members are dedicated to essential development, along with the intent to live authentic lives together. The group will meet for one weekend every 6-8 weeks. People will be encouraged to attend the small support group and/or do individual sessions. This commitment generates an intensity, focus, and grounded presence in each individual that contributes to the creation of an enormous possibility for healing and growth for everyone in the group. It is building a precious and powerful field of consciousness. The concept of field comes from quantum physics and is a major element of the ALI approach. Much attention is paid to developing and tending to the group field, and realizing the opportunity such a concentration of consciousness presents.
